Basketball Recap: Grace Prep Snags 15th Victory in Last 16 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Grace Prep rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 71-49 margin over the Grace Community Cougars. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mj Boyd, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Boyd a new career-high in assists (seven). Jesiah Williams was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with six boards and three steals.

Grace Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Grace Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points over those games. Grace Community's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 22-15.

Coming up, Grace Prep will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Dunne at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grace Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Bishop Dunne likes a good challenge. Grace Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
