Volleyball Recap: Hiro Sibble's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greenwich over Stamford

Greenwich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Stamford Black Knights, falling 3-0. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Black Knights when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Greenwich was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-16.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hiro Sibble, who had six digs, five kills, three aces, and two blocks. Sibble has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Keito Fukushima, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Greenwich's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Stamford, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

Greenwich does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stamford, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Darien on the 23rd.
