Basketball Game Preview: Naperville North Huskies vs. Naperville Central Redhawks

The Naperville North Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Naperville Central Redhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Naperville North ended up a good deal behind Downers Grove North and lost 52-36. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Naperville Central). They strolled past Romeoville with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 73-59. Given the Redhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Spartans are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Naperville Central and bumps their season record up to 12-14. As for Naperville North, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Naperville North couldn't quite finish off Naperville Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 45-42. Can Naperville North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
