Softball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

The Ridgevue Warhawks will face off against the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Ridgevue has struggled recently with 19 defeats in a row, while Rocky Mountain will arrive with five straight wins.

Ridgevue lost 14-4 to Capital on Tuesday.

Ridgevue saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Berkley Roath, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Tori McKinzie also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain won against Capital on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Grizzlies skirted past Borah 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Lions since April 15, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Sorensen, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Tayler Klozcko was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Rocky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Ridgevue, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Ridgevue suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to Rocky Mountain in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Warhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
