Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Justin Garza couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sanger West Hornets on Tuesday. The Guardians' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sanger West scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Shivraj Singh paced Justin Garza's offense, picking up 15 kills. Singh got some help from Rudy Rocha and his 54 assists.

Sanger West was led to victory by Maximus Inboon and Jayden Vang. Inboon had 19 digs and three assists, while Vang had 20 assists and ten digs. That's the most assists Inboon has posted over his last six matchups. Elijah Guevara also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Justin Garza's defeat dropped their record down to 29-12. As for Sanger West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-14 record this season.

Justin Garza does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanger West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Santa Ynez on the 15th.
