Burgettstown picks up fifth straight win on the road

Recap: Burgettstown Blue Devils vs. Bentworth Bearcats

The Burgettstown Blue Devils's and the Bentworth Bearcats's contest on Tuesday was close at halftime, but the Burgettstown Blue Devils turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Everything went Burgettstown's way against Bentworth as Burgettstown made off with a 63-42 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Burgettstown has posted since December 19, 2023.

Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Hays, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Harper, who scored 16 points.

Burgettstown pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Bentworth, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burgettstown will square off against Fort Cherry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bentworth, they will head out on the road to challenge Bethlehem Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bethlehem Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Tuesday.
