Soccer Recap: Boerne Takes a Loss

If Boerne was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Veterans Memorial last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Boerne Greyhounds fell just short of the Smithson Valley Rangers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Greyhounds came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Rangers are ranked 389th).

Boerne's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Smithson Valley, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6.

Coming up, Boerne will challenge Boerne-Champion at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Smithson Valley, they will square off against Pieper at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Pieper will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Smithson Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
