Nelson County is a perfect 10-0 against Galileo since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Governors will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nelson County has eight straight wins, Galileo has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Wednesday, Nelson County needed a bit of extra time to put away Appomattox County. They won by a goal and slipped past the Raiders 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Nelson County were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Cayden Torres, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, Galileo came up short against Dan River on Wednesday and fell 4-2.

Nelson County pushed their record up to 10-0-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four matches. As for Galileo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1.

Everything went Nelson County's way against Galileo in their previous meeting back in April, as Nelson County made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Governors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
