Baseball Recap: Freer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pearsall, Freer was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Aransas Pass Panthers 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buckaroos have posted since May 2, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Alex Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Freer's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Oscar Luan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Freer moved to 5-6 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Aransas Pass, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-1.
