Football Recap: Heritage Christian Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Heritage Christian finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 17-13 to the Village Christian Crusaders. The Warriors have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Village Christian was led to victory by Mattao Tarca and Cooper Jackson. Tarca rushed for 111 yards, while Jackson threw for 97 yards and two TDs. Tarca was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Village Christian, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Heritage Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Ontario Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Village Christian will take on rival Capistrano Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
