Football Recap: Pius X Falls to Elkhorn North in First Game of Season

Pius X unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Elkhorn North Wolves on Friday, falling 46-0. The Thunderbolts have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Ethan Beachy was nothing short of spectacular for Elkhorn North: he threw for 219 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. That's the most passing yards Beachy has posted since back in September of 2024. Alex Uchtman was in the mix too, providing Elkhorn North with two TDs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pius X is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Blair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkhorn North, they will head out to square off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
