Basketball Recap: Falcon Falcons vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

If Falcon was feeling good fresh off their 77-23 takedown of Mitchell last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcon Falcons fell just short of the Palmer Ridge Bears by a score of 51-49 on Monday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Falcon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaak Lane went 6-for-10 on his way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lane has scored all season. Tyler Cox was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Logan Boyer was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-13 to rack up 30 points for Palmer Ridge. Boyer is becoming a predictor of Palmer Ridge's success: when he posts at least 30 points the team is undefeated (and 8-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Chaz Connors, who went 6-for-12 en route to 13 points.

Falcon's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Palmer Ridge, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
