Football Game Preview: DeMatha Stags vs. Gonzaga Eagles

The DeMatha Stags will take on the Gonzaga Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. DeMatha is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

DeMatha is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to St. John's for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-0 victory. The matchup marked the Stags' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 31-28. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Falcons on their field since March 20, 2021.

DeMatha's record now sits at 10-0. As for Gonzaga, their record is now 7-4.

Everything came up roses for DeMatha against Gonzaga in their previous meeting back in October, as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stags since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
