Football Game Preview: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Langston Hughes Panthers + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Brandan Ridley and Qwantavius Wiggins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The McIntosh Chiefs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Langston Hughes Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

McIntosh is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Northgate on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Chiefs lost 35-14 to the Vikings. The Chiefs have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Elijah Strader, who rushed for 30 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 81 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Langston Hughes strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 33-0 win over Newnan. The 33-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

McIntosh better keep an eye on Carsyn Baker. He was instrumental in Langston Hughes' win, rushing for 102 yards and one score.

Langston Hughes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 338 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Langston Hughes' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for McIntosh, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. McIntosh has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Langston Hughes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 255.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
