Jordan had won nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-0 to make it ten. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over Green Hope. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-7.

Jordan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Melton led the charge by throwing for 185 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. That's the most passing touchdowns Melton has posted since back in November of 2024. Another back making a difference was Damien Hayes, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs.

Another reason for the win was Jordan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xavier Perkins and Noah Clark, who racked up four sacks between them. Clark also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

As for Green Hope, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 5-2. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Jordan is ranked 30th).

Although Green Hope took the loss, they still got scores from Jack Slone and Ryder Schorzman.

Coincidentally, Jordan and Green Hope will both be playing Panther Creek the next time they take the field. Green Hope will head out to face Panther Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Jordan will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
