Avalon extended the longest winning streak in Coastal (8 Man) this week by beating Cornerstone Christian, 64-33. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lancers.
Avalon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Crusaders. Juan Carlos Murillo ran for 166 yards and caught two passes for 37 yards in the win.
Earl Schrader's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Luis Ventura helped Avalon's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Jose Cervantes put up the best numbers through the air as the Lancers bested Cornerstone Christian. He had a total of five completions for 72 yards.
Avalon's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cervantes has thrown for 153 yards this season, while Murillo has four catches for 86 yards. Cervantes also leads the league in rushing with 350 yards.
A big matchup in Coastal (8 Man) this week will be when Hope Centre takes on Price. At the moment, Hope Centre is in second, while the Knights are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hope Centre takes on Price. Hope Centre has allowed 77 points this season, while the Knights have given up 104.
