Basketball Recap: Churchill County Greenwave vs. Lowry Buckaroos
Churchill County fought the good fight in their overtime game against Lowry on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lowry Buckaroos. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Greenwave who fell 65-63 when the teams previously met back in December of 2024.
Churchill County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Barry Mitchell, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. Calin Anderson was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Churchill County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Churchill County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Lowry, they moved to 7-13 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Churchill County will venture away from home to challenge Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lowry, they will head out to face off against Fernley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
