Preview: Lithia Springs Lions vs. Mays Raiders
The Lithia Springs Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Mays Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lithia Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Mays is ranked 76th).
Last Friday, Lithia Springs suffered a tough 28-8 loss at the hands of Chapel Hill. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Mays got themselves on the board against Banneker on Friday, but Banneker never followed suit. They blew past the Trojans 35-0 on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Mays who now have four in a row.
This is the second loss in a row for Lithia Springs and nudges their season record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Mays, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Lithia Springs suffered a grim 66-42 defeat to Mays in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Lithia Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
