Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Skylar Herring and Carson Peoples Lead Wimberley to Victory

Wimberley won the last time they faced Gainesville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Texans came out on top against the Leopards by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Texans.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wimberley was: they took both sets by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-9.

Leading Wimberley to victory were Carson Peoples and Skylar Herring. Peoples had seven assists and five aces, while Herring had nine assists. Those five aces gave Peoples a new career-high.

Wimberley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gainesville, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Wimberley has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Smithville on the 14th. As for Gainesville, they will venture away from home to square off against Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
