Baseball Recap: Madera South Takes a Loss

Madera South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McLane, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Stallions fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Brendon Gustafson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Gustafson was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Gustafson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Moles, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Madera South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17-1. As for McLane, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Madera South is set to take on their familiar foe Torres at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, McLane will challenge rival Hoover at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Patriots a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
