Recap: Cloverleaf Colts vs. North Olmsted Eagles
If the Cloverleaf Colts were riding high off their 69-44 takedown of the Barberton Magics on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cloverleaf took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Olmsted on Sunday.
Cloverleaf's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evie Barth, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Barth scored a full 45.7% of Cloverleaf's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Shook, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
North Olmsted got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Donald out in front who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Shelley Gray was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Cloverleaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Olmsted, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Cloverleaf will head out on the road to face off against Crestwood at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Olmsted, they will be playing at home against Holy Name at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
