Basketball Recap: Aiden Wright's Big Game Can't Quite Lead King George over Caroline

King George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caroline Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 172nd).

King George's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Wright, who went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points. Eli Truslow was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, King George was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

King George's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Caroline, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

King George didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-40 loss against Courtland on the 28th. Caroline has also already played their next matchup, a 62-50 win against James Monroe on the 28th.
