Football Recap: Bishop Union Broncos vs. Fernley Vaqueros
Bishop Union had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 47-7 loss at the hands of the Fernley Vaqueros. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Emory Dondero threw for 131 yards on 11 of 19 attempts. Levi Derr was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.
Fernley had a senior duo take command as Keeshawn Love rushed for 279 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 14.7 yards per carry and Bryce Stephens rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns. Love's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Fernley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Looking ahead, Bishop Union will challenge Mission College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fernley, they will take on Elko at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Vaqueros' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
