Football Recap: Port Allegany Gators vs. Bradford Owls

Port Allegany had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Bradford Owls to the tune of 70-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gators also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2020.

Port Allegany didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nick Wilfong and Liam Hawver. Port Allegany received some extra help from Isaac Postlewait, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Bradford's loss came despite strong showings from Bentley Evans and Logan Kohler. Evans rushed for 45 yards and a pair of TDs, while Kohler rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 65 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Allegany will host Moniteau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bradford, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley at 7:00 p.m.
