Edsel Ford had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-9 to make it seven. They lost 13-5 to the Trenton Trojans. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
As for Trenton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
For Trenton's part, Lauryn Holder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, Trenton let Mia Maldonado and Analy Guth run wild. Maldonado went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Guth went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Maldonado a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Ryznar, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
While Edsel Ford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
