            Baseball Recap: Sheldon Huskies vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Sheldon had lost seven straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it eight. They came up short against  the Laguna Creek Cardinals, falling  10-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  18-0  defeat  on Wednesday.
As for Laguna Creek, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.1 runs.
For Laguna Creek's part,  not much got past  Joseph Rumbaoa, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Sheldon off the board. Rumbaoa also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because the Cardinals are 7-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.
 At the plate, Laguna Creek got a  massive  performance out of  KJ Winn, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  Winn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Tyger Peterson, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will welcome Elk Grove  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Laguna Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rodriguez  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their  tenth straight  victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
