After both having extra time off, the Prairie Falcons and the Camas Papermakers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Prairie earned a 10-5 victory over WF West.

Mackenzie Moore made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 5-for-5.
In other batting news, Kayla Scholl and Kellie Cady did most of the damage at the plate: Scholl scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5, while Cady went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. What's more, Scholl posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Carlie Palmer was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Prairie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Camas and Heritage, and Camas kept the tradition alive. The Papermakers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Timberwolves an 18-0 shutout last Thursday. The game marked the Papermakers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Like Prairie, Camas also got a great game from a two-way player: Jayda Peterson. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Peterson has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Camas got a massive performance out of Hayden Wiest, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Wiest also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Chambers, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Camas, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Camas' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Prairie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Camas, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will Prairie keep running through batters, or will the Papermakers buck the trend?
Everything went Prairie's way against Camas when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Prairie made off with a 17-6 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Papermakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
