Softball Recap: Starks Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Starks had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Basile Bearcats 14-8. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Starks' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.2 runs. As for Basile, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4-1 record this season.

Starks didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-13 victory against Lake Arthur on the 17th. As for Basile, they will welcome Grand Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Basile has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
