Baseball Recap: Pahrump Valley Trojans vs. Lee Williams Volunteers

While Pahrump Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Lee Williams Volunteers on Saturday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Volunteers, too.

Andrew Zurn made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Chris Nelson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Kayne Horibe was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pahrump Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Williams only posted an OBP of .333.

Pahrump Valley's record is now 9-2-1. As for Lee Williams, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Pahrump Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-1 win against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on the 10th. As for Lee Williams, they will face off against Lake Havasu at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
