Softball Game Preview: Johnsonville Flashes vs. Lake City Panthers

The Johnsonville Flashes will challenge the Lake City Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake City took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Johnsonville, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, Johnsonville got the win against Green Sea Floyds by a conclusive 11-3.

Natalee Taylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Taylor was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Mallory Prosser and Charley Tippett did most of the damage at the plate: Prosser went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Tippett went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Prosser has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Wall, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lake City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 18-7 to Carolina Academy.

Johnsonville's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Lake City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything went Johnsonville's way against Lake City when the teams last played on April 2nd, as Johnsonville made off with a 14-3 win. Do the Flashes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
