Riverbend has gone 8-1-1 against Stafford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will take on the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Riverbend's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Riverbend fought the good fight in their overtime game against Colonial Forge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Riverbend fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Colonial Forge since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Stafford hadn't done well against North Stafford recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Indians beat the Wolverines by a goal, winning 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Stafford as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Stafford's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8-1 and their overall record up to 3-9-1. As for Riverbend, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

Riverbend took their victory against Stafford in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
