Basketball Recap: Warhill Lions vs. Tabb Tigers

In what's become a running theme this season, the Warhill Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past Tabb 43-20. Winning may never get old, but Warhill sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Warhill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but D'Shela Walker led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Walker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Mary Drakes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Warhill is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Tabb, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warhill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. New Kent will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Lions are ranked 114th). As for Tabb, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Lafayette is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
