Softball Recap: Laurel Hill Takes a Loss

Laurel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Baker Gators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hoboes of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Laurel Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevaeh Langford, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Laurel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Baker, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Laurel Hill will face off against Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Laurel Hill's pitchers better be ready for this one: Paxton has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Baker, they have already played their next match, a 6-2 defeat against Ponce De Leon on the 28th.
