Basketball Recap: Sam Houston Takes a Loss

Sam Houston lost against Bowie back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sam Houston Texans lost to the Bowie Volunteers on the road by a 50-36 margin. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1026th, while the Volunteers are ranked 460th).

Sam Houston dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Bowie, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-17 record this season.

Sam Houston will challenge Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sam Houston is facing Arlington at the right time seeing as Arlington is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bowie, they will host Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
