Baseball Game Preview: Kennett Blue Demons vs. Sun Valley Vanguards

The Kennett Blue Demons will challenge the Sun Valley Vanguards at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Kennett is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Unionville.

Cole Doherty was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sun Valley's offense. They lost 7-0 to Bishop Shanahan on Tuesday. The Vanguards have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Sun Valley also got a good showing from Austin Miazza, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the first time Miazza hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.

At the plate, Sun Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Comisiak, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Sun Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Kennett, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Kennett was able to grind out a solid victory over Sun Valley when the teams last played back in April, winning 3-0. Will the Blue Demons repeat their success, or do the Vanguards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
