Basketball Recap: Battle Mountain Longhorns vs. Pershing County Mustangs
Battle Mountain has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pershing County Mustangs. The Longhorns were up 36-22 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Despite the defeat, Battle Mountain had strong showings from Paitynn Johns, who posted 15 points and five rebounds, and Yadira Vazquez, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and eight boards. Heaven Martinez was another key player, putting up three points and eight boards.
