Basketball Recap: Regina Dominican's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

If Woodlands Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Regina Dominican, they should've done a better job of containing Jillian DeFranza. The Regina Dominican Panthers blew past the Woodlands Academy Wildcats 42-15 on Tuesday thanks in part to DeFranza, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Bridget Conway was another key player, putting up six points and three steals. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2023.

The win (which was Regina Dominican's third in a row) raised their record to 9-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Woodlands Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Regina Dominican has already played their next game, a 47-41 victory against Latin on the 10th. As for Woodlands Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-15 loss against Lake Forest Academy on the 10th.
