Soccer Game Preview: Notre Dame vs. Muscatine

The Notre Dame Nikes will head out on the road to face off against the Muscatine Muskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame has given up an average of 5.3 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Notre Dame came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to Quincy Notre Dame. The defeat continues a trend for Notre Dame in their meetings with Quincy Notre Dame: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Muscatine put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Pleasant Valley a 4-0 shutout. Give Muscatine's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Notre Dame now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Muscatine, their win bumped their record up to 12-0-1.

Notre Dame suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Muscatine when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Nikes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
