Softball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Reed

Douglas faced Reed in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers lost 12-2 to the Raiders. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this contest were averaging 4.09 runs allowed.

Marissa McLelland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Douglas and nudges their season record down to 16-7. As for Reed, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3-1.
