Mainland Regional had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-7-1 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Cedar Creek Pirates. Considering the Mustangs have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Cedar Creek, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 2.6 runs allowed.

For Cedar Creek's part, Ayden Chambers was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
