Softball Recap: Plains Gets the Win

Plains came out on top against Anaconda on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Troter Horsemen had just enough and edged out the Copperheads 12-10. That's two games straight that the Troter Horsemen have won by exactly two runs.

Plains let Bri Kulawinski and Taylor Saner run wild. Kulawinski went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Saner went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Montana Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Plains kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Plains' record is now 3-5. As for Anaconda, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Anaconda will take on Plains-Hot Springs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Plains will be paying especially close attention to the Copperheads' contest: after the Copperheads face off against the Horsemen, they'll take on Plains again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
