Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. St. Paul Wildcats

Lakeview has won nine straight games at home, while St. Paul has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Vikings will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lakeview picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Pierce.

Lakeview not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pierce between 20 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20.

St. Paul not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Central City.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-21.

St. Paul's win came from a few key players Lakeview will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zaya Lewis, who had 35 assists and eight digs. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Keislyn Poss was another key player, getting 20 digs and two assists.

Lakeview's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for St. Paul, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Lakeview took their victory against St. Paul in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
