Baseball Recap: North Miami Beach Takes a Loss

North Miami Beach came up into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Northwestern Bulls by a score of 12-10 on Friday. The Chargers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row dating back to last season.

North Miami Beach got a good showing from Jordan Acevedo, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Acevedo also posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Giuseppe Ranalli was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Gamon, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

North Miami Beach's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Northwestern, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, North Miami Beach will square off against Miami Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northwestern, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Booker T. Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
