Soccer Game Preview: Middletown vs. Prout

The Middletown Islanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Prout Crusaders at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Middletown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Providence Country Day, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Middletown was ranked 14th). The Islanders' defense stepped up to hand the Knights a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. The matchup marked Middletown's most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prout). They blew past West Warwick 11-0 on Monday. It was an even better day for Kailee Corbett as she scored three goals for her team.

Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Prout, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.
