Football Recap: Edison Chargers vs. Rialto Knights

Edison took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They blew past the Rialto Knights 72-7.

Avea Niumata had a dynamite game, throwing for 121 yards and five TDs, while also catching a pair of scores. Remi Miller did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 37 receiving yards.

Edison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Addison La Trobe led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Edison got some further help from Addison Bond: she picked up two sacks and made five total tackles.

Rialto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will challenge Lakewood at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rialto, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Chino Hills at 3:45 p.m.
