Basketball Recap: Alexander Comes Up Short on the Road Against Geneseo

Alexander had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 53-48 to the Geneseo Blue Devils. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Oren Ray was nothing short of spectacular for Geneseo: he dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ray a new career-high in blocks (four). Avery Hepler was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Geneseo's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Alexander won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elba at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneseo, they will venture away from home to challenge Livonia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
