Softball Recap: Orchard Park's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

After flying high against Amherst Central on Saturday, Orchard Park came back down to earth. The Quakers fell just short of the Frontier Falcons by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Quakers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Orchard Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Sheehan, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Ella Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Orchard Park fell to 8-1. As for Frontier, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Orchard Park and Frontier should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Quakers (ranked 21st) will meet Clarence (ranked 275th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Frontier will challenge West Seneca West at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (37 vs. 338).
