The Stony Point Tigers will square off against the Hutto Hippos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Stony Point put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over Manor. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Stony Point's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trystin Rimes, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three TDs. That's the most receiving touchdowns Rimes has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Troyer, who threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Stony Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Hutto hadn't done well against Round Rock recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hippos skirted past the Dragons 33-31.
Hutto's win came from a few key players Stony Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaden Stefek, who threw for 276 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Hutto's leading receiver Jaiden Fields was Stefek's top target yet again, picking up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Stony Point, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Stony Point has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 414 total yards per game. However, it's not like Hutto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 383.8 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
