Baseball Recap: Milford Find Success

Milford won the last time they faced Lincoln County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Lynx. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Kilo Tsosie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Milford is undefeated when Tsosie posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kason Kesler and Jex Ashworth did most of the damage at the plate: Kesler scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Ashworth scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Kesler a new career-high.

Milford's record now sits at 13-7. As for Lincoln County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will host Parowan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lincoln County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Awaken Christian at 1:00 p.m. on the 24th.
