Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Oak Ridge Trojans

The Franklin Wildcats will take on the Oak Ridge Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Franklin came up short against Monterey Trail and fell 62-55. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Franklin might have lost, but man, Aiden Rollins was a machine: he went 9-for-19 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. Rollins' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Sandy, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge ended up a good deal behind Folsom on Friday and lost 74-56. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 21st).

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Oak Ridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.

Franklin came up short against Oak Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 66-53. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
